Gallery.
Hello and thank you for visiting the Southern Jacobites Pipe Band Gallery page. The Gallery contains over 400 photos of past and present band members playing at events. Our aim is to promote the playing of Scottish and Celtic music.
Brief History.
We are a band that started with five pipers, one drummer and no uniform, founded in April 2010. We have worked hard to achieve what we have done so far. Some of the band’s highlights to date are having taken part in the Malta Tattoo, having played alongside the Chieftains and the Treorchy Male Voice Choir. Remembrance Parades and The London Poppy Day. We pride ourselves on being a home grown band with a fun vibe but ensuring a professional presentation and performance.
Practice Nights.
We currently practise at Ludgershall Memorial Hall, Hampshire, SP11 9LZ, every Tuesday, from 7pm to 9pm, and also a second practice night at Bishopstrow Village Hall, Warminster, Wiltshire BA12 9HN, available on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. This will allow players nearer to each venue to choose which practices they wish to attend, which is nearest to their Home.
Our practice routine consists of a chanter and pads practice from 7pm until 8pm and then pipes and drums practice from 8pm until 9pm.
Our main aims are:
- Most importantly, to have fun as a band.
- To promote Scottish and Celtic music.
- To improve our individual playing and our ensemble playing
Invitation.
If that sounds like your type of thing and you want to join a friendly, welcoming group, then we would love to see you. Whether you already play the bagpipes and/or drums or if you simply want to learn. We have the necessary instructors to ensure you get the correct tuition.
