Who is Who, Pipers
Who is Who, Drummers
Who is Who.
Hello and thank you for visiting the Southern Jacobites Pipe Band Who is Who page. We will be adding more Video from June 2023. Our aim is to promote the playing of Scottish and Celtic music.
Brief History.
The Southern Jacobites Pipe Band started with five pipers, one drummer and no uniform, founded in April 2010. Despite this, we have worked hard to achieve what we have done so far. Some of the band’s highlights to date are having taken part in the Malta Tattoo, having played alongside the Chieftains and the Treorchy Male Voice Choir. Remembrance Parades and The London Poppy Day. SJPB pride ourselves on being a home grown band with a fun vibe but ensuring a professional presentation and performance.
Practice Nights.
We currently practise at Ludgershall Memorial Hall, Hampshire, SP11 9LZ, every Tuesday, from 7pm to 9pm, and also a second practice night at Bishopstrow Village Hall, Warminster, Wiltshire BA12 9HN, available on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. This will allow players nearer to each venue to choose which practices they wish to attend, which is nearest to their Home.
Generally our practice routine consists of a chanter and pads practice from 7pm until 8pm and afterwards a pipes and drums practice from 8pm until 9pm.
Our main aims are:
- Most importantly, to have fun as a band.
- To promote Scottish and Celtic music.
- To improve our individual playing and our ensemble playing
